Spotlight on MeatHead Movers

You’d think a name like Meathead Movers would be a bad marketing move. It sounds like the stereotype mover that’s all brawn and no brain.

But with Meathead Movers, nothing could be further than the truth.

In fact, the forces behind California’s largest independent moving company are highly ethical and progressive business professionals. Brothers Aaron and Evan Steed started Meathead Movers in 1997 while still in school. As active students and athletes, they turned their limited time and ample physical abilities into part-time work, helping families and friends save costs through fast and economical moves.

Growth and Success

The Steed brothers quickly grew Meathead Movers into a full-time business by employing other athletic students to deliver a unique customer service experience. Each employee is required to share the Meathead objectives, maintain a positive attitude and be accountable for their actions.

The company emphasizes honesty, politeness and strict hygiene standards of every individual—right from the top down. They demand their customers receive premium value. Recognizing that most moves are charged by an hourly rate, Meathead requires their young and fit movers to minimize time by jogging between the truck and the house when empty.

Growth has been good for Meathead Movers. Over 20 years, they’ve expanded into Santa Barbara, Ventura, Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties. With hundreds of employees still drawn from an intense screening of athletic students, Meathead Movers offers on-site and long-distance moves, storage, supplies and packing services through its sister company, Princess Packers.

Meathead Movers has a no-compromise success formula that makes them the go-to California student athlete moving company. It starts with the simple philosophy of complete and 100 percent customer satisfaction. They also believe in:

  • Under promising, over delivering
  • If there’s a better way, they’ll find it
  • What gets measured gets improved
  • Working hard and playing hard
  • People valuing what they earn
  • Informing customers of the facts
  • Assisting women in domestic violence situations

A Noble Cause

It’s the last point that really puts Meathead Movers ahead of the pack. Despite Meathead being a for-profit company, they provide a one-of-a-kind, free-of-charge service to women and family victims of domestic violence. They utilize their talents to help those who need them most.

Meathead Movers works with the Good Shepherd Shelter to help people affected by domestic violence move out of dangerous situations for free. They’re vigilantly on a moment’s notice to help battered women pack up and leave their abusers.  Meathead also started a campaign called #MoveToEndDV. They call on other businesses to get creative and help victims of domestic violence.

“I can’t think of a more powerful and impactful way to utilize our moving services than to offer free moves to victims fleeing abusive relationships and then again when it is time to move on to the next, better phase of life,” Aaron Steed, CEO of Meathead Movers, told the Huffington Post.

Meathead Movers is revolutionizing the moving industry one relationship at a time. Not bad for a bunch of Meatheads ;).
